INTERNAL N.8

CREATION OF AN INTERNAL STAIRCASE IN A HOUSE

Location: Tirrenia, Pisa

The house in which the staircase was built is a holiday home, for summer use, located in Tirrenia in the municipality of Pisa.

The project concerns an internal self-supporting staircase with a steel structure and wooden steps, which connects the ground floor, which leads to the house, on the first floor, where the sleeping area and a relaxation area are located.

The staircase is entirely made of vertical profiles in low thickness solid wall sheet metal, while the steps are made of wood and rest on the steel structure. Overall, the use of these two materials creates a very light and low visual impact image. Its terminal part is grafted onto the corridor leading to the sleeping area and laterally it is marked by an etched glass wall that indicates access to the bathroom in the sleeping area.

In addition, a small service bathroom has been reorganized on the ground floor.
